Dinner Plain which is located only 10 kms from Hotham, also provides a great environment for groups, families and couples with the feeling of a unique alpine village setting. Dinner Plain was designed by leading architects back in it time and was established in 1986. You can take your pick from over 300 private lodges, cabins, apartments and commercial lodges for accommodation that make up the established community.

Mount Hotham is located just a four and a half hour drive from Melbourne and only a nine hour drive from Sydney. Hotham sits at the crest of the Great Alpine Road, which is the highest sealed road in Australia, providing the most spectacular alpine accommodation scenery in the country. You can either travel by air, coach or car to get to Mount Hotham and all have their own advantages. Travelling by air you will have the luxury of arriving very quickly when you simply fly from any of the major cities in Australia to Melbourne and from here you are able to fly direct to Hotham as they are the only ski resort in Australia with its own airport serviced by Qantaslink and charter aircraft. By coach fly to Melbourne where you will catch a connecting bus called the Snowball Express coach direct from the airport to the resort. Or if you would rather take everything in at your own pace and enjoy the magic of the Victorian High Country and simply hire your own car and navigate your own way up the mountains to your destination.
